Ukrainian general: Closing Azov Sea could cause a major war in region

SANAA, Nov. 18 (YPA) – An Ukrainian general said that a major war that could erupt in the region if Russia closes the Azov Sea in front of various Ukrainian ships.

In an article published on a Ukrainian site, Ukrainian general Romanenko on Monday said that the war with Russia would be unequal and therefore the Ukrainian army would be unable to confront the Russian army and its power.

Romanenko added that Ukraine would be in an unenviable position if the war occurred because the West would not support the Ukrainian army and would not back the fighting front by sending armies to confront Russia.

He indicated that “that would mean the launching of a third World war inevitable. But Western support will be limited to economic and diplomatic assistance.”
