US aircraft carrier Essex arrives at Doha Port

SANAA, Oct. 15 (YPA) – The US Navy amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD-2) arrived at  the port of Doha on Sunday as part of a joint anti-terrorism cooperation, the Qatari Defense Ministry said.

According to the ministry, the arrival of the US vessel was part of a pre-set plan and indicated that the ship was carrying 3,000 troops, including 1600 of US Marines.

The arrival of the warship was “a testament to the friendship and depth of bilateral cooperation” between Washington and Doha.
