SAANA, Oct. 13 (YPA) – Chairman of the Supreme Revolutionary Committee, Mohammed Ali al-Houthi on Friday received a telephone call from Chinese ambassador to Yemen Kang Yong.
During the phone call, they discussed the economic and humanitarian crisis that Yemen is undergoing as a result of the Saudi-led aggression and blockade.
Mohamed Ali al-Houthi stressed that the Yemeni people are seeking a just peace, while there are no sincere intentions from the coalition’s side towards peace and the cessation of war, stressing that the success of any future negotiations requires the participation the States of the aggression which have the real decision and not its militias.
He referred to a number of peace initiatives that had been put in place, as well as guarantees for their implementation, which the coalition had always met with rejection, obstruction, and breaches.
Al-Houthi explained the tragic economic conditions that the Yemeni people are facing as a result of the aggression, blockade and all bad decisions such as moving the central bank from Sanaa to Aden, which leads to the non-payment of State-staff salaries.
He also pointed to the message he had sent to the United Nations recently and which included a solution for the economic crisis to face the threat of famine and to the recovery of the Yemeni economy.
Al-Houthi thanked China for its debt relief to the Yemeni people and putting an amount of money in Yemen’s reconstruction fund.
He Praised China’s stances in support of world peace and wishing the Chinese voice would be supportive of the Yemeni people.
For his part, the Chinese Ambassador Kang Yong stressed his country’s efforts to push forward the political process to resolve the Yemeni crisis.
He considered that the radical solution to the economic crisis is to push peace process forward under the direction of the UN envoy, stressing that dialogue and negotiations are the best way to achieve peace and avoid war in Yemen.
