Health situation in Yemen discussed in meeting held with int’l organizations
SANAA, Oct.8 (YPA) – A meeting was held on Monday in the capital Sanaa, headed by Health and Population Minister Taha al-Mutawakel in the capital Sanaa attended by representatives for World Health Organization and the International Committee of Red Cross in Yemen.
The meeting dealt with health situation in Yemen and propagation of epidemics.
The meeting referred to food catastrophe in Yemen due to the military and economy war waged by the US-backed Saudi-led coalition on Yemen and its all-out blockade.
The minister referred to several children who are suffering from the aggravate malnutrition in the district of Aslam, from which five where transported to the hospital of Al-Sabeen in the capital Sanaa because of its acute case.
He called on the organizations to play theirs humanitarian role in adopting total and sustainable vision to save the children life before they be victims of malnutrition.
The attendants to meeting urged to quick response and intervention to contain this epidemics.
They affirmed the importance of achieving equipment and operation of Maternal and Childhood Hospital in Saada province, established recently by the Yemeni Health ministry to combat the epidemics, especially those concerning the fields of maternal and childhood’s health care.
