Hadramout suffers sharp decline in food funding

HADRِMOUT, Sept. 17 (YPA) – A former local official in Hadramawt province said that the Hadrmout is witnessing a sharp decline in the amount of food funding in the province.

Hadramout is witnessing a significant decline in food, due to the economic crisis in Yemen and the downfall in the price of the Yemeni rial versus foreign currency, The former general director of  Mukalla city, Salim Ali bin Sheikh Abu Bakr, said on his Facebook page on Monday.

He warned of massive famine if the situation is not treated urgently, as traders continue to fear to import food, because of their great loss.

He noted that this would also result in a higher rise in the prices of basic need like, “flour, rice, sugar, oil, milk and others things.
