SANAA, Aug. 28 (YPA) – Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakil called on the United Nations and United Nations Security Council to do their duty to stop the Saudi-led aggression, lift the blockade and send urgent planes loaded with medicines and supplies for the children and Patients, and transfer all those who need treatment abroad urgently.
In a press conference held in Al-Thawrah Hospital in Sanaa, Dr. Al-Mutawakel called for the opening of Sanaa International Airport in order to enable the survivors of the direct shelling of children and women to travel abroad to receive treatment which is their basic right.
He confirmed that the Yemeni children are been killed by the Saudi-led coalition since 1, 250 days, the latest of which the massacre of the student in Dhhyan and the massacre of the displaced children which killed 83 people, including 60 children and five women, and injured more than 80 others
He added that children in Yemen still suffering due to the deteriorating health system as a result of the coalition bombing and not being transported abroad for treatment due to the unjust closure of Sanaa International Airport.
Dr. Al-Mutawakel indicated that Sanaa international airport benefiting more than 80 percent of the population of the Republic of Yemen from all segments of society.
He pointed out that the closure of the airport had deprived more than 2 million people who are in need to travel abroad to receive treatment, especially the most intractable cases.
He said that the United Nations and all humanitarian organizations hold responsible for the crimes and massacres committed against the children of Yemen by the Saudi-led coalition and their allies.
