Iran announces its nuclear industry has reached full maturity

TEHRAN, Oct. 28 (YPA) – The spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Behrouz Kamalvandi, confirmed on Wednesday that the Iranian nuclear industry has reached full maturity and achieved self-sufficiency in the construction of nuclear power plants.

Mehr News Agency quoted Kamalvandi as saying on the sidelines of the Sixth Ministerial Conference on Nuclear Energy in South Korea that Iran has made significant progress in the nuclear fuel cycle, power plant construction, and nuclear safety, and possesses specialized personnel capable of developing the industry despite political pressures.

He explained that nuclear energy represents an important option for producing low-emission electricity in light of increasing global demand with the development of artificial intelligence and electric transportation, stressing the need to respect Iran’s nuclear rights and the obligations of states under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.

The statements come amid repeated claims by US President Donald Trump regarding the destruction of the Iranian nuclear program, and Washington’s efforts to include the nuclear issue in negotiations to end the war, which Tehran rejects in the first stage.
