AMSTERDAM, Oct. 27 (YPA) – The Netherlands announced its non-participation in the Eurovision 2027 competition due to the participation of the Israeli occupation, after the public broadcaster failed to find a broadcaster willing to take responsibility for participating.
The broadcaster stated on Tuesday that no broadcaster had expressed a willingness to participate, despite expectations of a return after boycotting the 2026 competition in protest against the participation of the occupation and its war on Gaza.
The broadcaster, AfroTurus, said that Eurovision had become a “platform for division” and was no longer able to be neutral with the participation of a country involved in a large-scale military conflict.
Ireland, Spain, Iceland, Slovenia, and the Netherlands boycotted the 2026 edition, while Ireland confirmed that its boycott would continue. The EBU has not yet announced the final list of participants for 2027.
