SANAA, Oct. 27 (YPA) – Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, a member of the Supreme Political Council in Sanaa, said Saudi Arabia’s statements on de-escalation contradicted its continued aggression, blockade and escalation against Yemen.
In a statement to Saba News Agency, al-Houthi clarified that Saudi Arabia’s genuine step toward de-escalation must be to stop its aggression, lift its blockade and withdraw from Yemen. He also demanded compensation for the destruction caused in Yemen since 2015.
Al-Houthi warned against drawing Egyptian forces into a new war, saying it would drain Egypt’s capabilities and serve Israeli plans to seize Sinai.
“We are not afraid of any new alliances. Such alliances should confront the Israeli enemy, which is declaring war on the peoples of the region,” he said.
He stressed that Yemen posed no threat to Bab al-Mandab, saying it protected the strait, as well as the Suez Canal and other parts of the Arab and Islamic world.
Al-Houthi described the so-called “Mecca Alliance” as serving US and Israeli projects for regional domination and targeting those resisting these policies. He called on its members to withdraw and avoid joining hostile alliances against Yemen.
He urged the countries concerned to direct their efforts toward defending Palestine and liberating the region from US and Israeli domination.
Al-Houthi concluded by saying, “We are not advocates of war, but of freedom, independence and genuine peace that serves the interests of our homeland, people and nation.”
