Power outages spark public anger in Mukalla city

HADRAMOUT, Oct. 21 (YPA) – Repeated power outages have sparked widespread anger among residents of Mukalla and other coastal districts of oil-rich Hadramout province.

Local sources affirmed that power cuts have exceeded six consecutive hours, with only brief periods of electricity, amid fuel shortages at power stations.

The outages have worsened residents’ daily hardships and disrupted businesses that rely on electricity.

Hadramout activists and journalists also mocked the repeated cuts, recalling publicity in July over Saudi-provided emergency power generators, saying the measures had failed to reduce outages or ease residents’ suffering.
