Egypt actor affirms Egyptians reject sending troops to defend Saudi interests

SANAA, Oct. 21 (YPA) – Egyptian actor and opposition figure Amr Waked said the Egyptian people categorically reject sending soldiers to defend Saudi Arabia’s interests.

In a post on X, Waked affirmed that delays in Egypt’s parliament were paving the way to reject the Saudi request.

He warned lawmakers against approving any decision authorizing Egyptian forces to join Saudi Arabia’s war on Yemen, saying those who voted in favor would be held accountable.

A vote on a request to authorize President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to send troops to Saudi Arabia has been postponed for a second time, until Monday, October 26.
