SANAA, Oct. 02 (YPA) Saudi air forces conducted airstrikes on Thursday targeting the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, alongside several other governorates, amid an ongoing Saudi military escalation against Yemen.
According to a local source, Saudi warplanes launched two airstrikes on the capital, Sanaa, on Thursday evening, with additional raids reported across the governorates of Saada, Amran, and Taiz.
Earlier on Thursday, a spokesperson for Sanaa forces stated that Saudi warplanes executed 47 airstrikes and missile salvos targeting various areas in Taiz, Saada, and Jawf. The spokesperson specified that F-15 and Typhoon fighter jets launched their sorties from the Khamis Mushait and Taif airbases, while missile strikes originated from the Jizan region.
The spokesperson added that the strikes primarily targeted civilian infrastructure and public facilities, notably telecommunication networks and schools, bringing the total number of recorded air and missile strikes since the onset of the recent escalation to 1,256.
