Activists circulate footage showing Saudi airstrikes on Taiz factions

TAIZ, Oct. 01 (YPA) – Activists and local residents in Taiz province circulated video footage documenting Saudi airstrikes targeting positions and movements of forces affiliated with the so-called Taiz Axis, which is aligned with the Islah Party, amid the withdrawal of military formations from fighting fronts in the province’s southwestern countryside.

The footage, whose timing and filming locations could not be independently verified, shows military vehicles accompanied by the sound of explosions and flashes apparently caused by airstrikes.

Local sources said the strikes coincided with military movements and withdrawals from the Heijat Al-Abed and Al-Turbah fronts in Al-Shamayateen district.

The developments come amid continued military escalation on southern and western Taiz fronts, particularly around Heijat Al-Abed, Al-Shamayateen District and Al-Turbah.

Media reports on September 24 previously cited Saudi airstrikes in Tur Al-Baha targeting forces from the Al-Amaliqa Brigades and Deal-Watan as they withdrew from the Heijat Al-Abed area.

Other reports also pointed to continued airstrikes and military movements in the Taiz countryside, although determining the nature of the targets and the scale of any casualties requires verified field information not provided by the circulating footage alone.

The incidents have revived earlier reports of coalition-backed military formations coming under airstrikes while redeploying or withdrawing from some fronts, prompting anger among Saudi supporters and accusations that Riyadh places little value on those who fought on its side.
