Hezbollah denies any link to cell arrested in Syria’s Daraa

BEIRUT, Sept. 30 (YPA) – Lebanon’s Hezbollah has strongly denied any connection or affiliation with the cell that the Syrian Interior Ministry announced had been detained in the Yarmouk Basin area of Daraa.

In a statement on Wednesday, the Party stressed that it has no presence on Syrian territory and no involvement in any security or military activity there.

In a statement issued the group affirmed its commitment to Syria’s security, stability and the safety of its people, calling on the Syrian authorities to verify the background of the allegations.

Hezbollah warned against attempts to implicate its name in order to fuel tensions and sow discord between Lebanon and Syria, arguing that Israel is the beneficiary of efforts to escalate tensions between the two countries.
