The carrier departed San Diego on Sunday, sailing across the Pacific Ocean on a mission expected to be lengthy, according to USNA News.

The website noted that the carrier sailed accompanied by the 11th Air Wing, and quoted a defense official as saying that it had already begun its planned mission.
