Dozens of Zionist settlers storm Al-Aqsa mosque under heavy Israeli police protection

GUDS, Sept. 28 (YPA) – Dozens of Zionist settlers stormed the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque on Monday morning through the Moroccan Gate, under heavy protection from Israeli occupation police.

It is worth noting that 1,500 settlers and rabbis stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque yesterday and performed Jewish rituals and prayers, particularly near the Qattanin Gate, one of the mosque’s gates.

This coincided with the bringing of what are referred to as “plant offerings” into the mosque’s courtyards, along with the chanting of hymns, the formation of dancing circles, prostration, and collective bowing.

These scenes reflect an ongoing escalation in imposing Jewish rituals inside the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and attempts to alter the existing historical and legal status quo there.

These incursions are taking place amid intensified military measures by the occupation authorities around Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City, as well as restrictions on worshippers’ access and movement.

The month of September has witnessed repeated incursions, including the entry of 480 settlers on September 13, coinciding with what is known as the “Jewish New Year,” and approximately 100 settlers on September 20 during Yom Kippur.

According to data from the Quds (Jerusalem) Governorate, 40,661 settlers have stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque since the beginning of the year through the end of August 2026.

Meanwhile, approximately 800 orders banning Jerusalem residents from entering the mosque have been issued since the beginning of the year through early this month.
