Saudi-backed forces assault citizens’ homes in Hadramout’s Al-Qatn

HADRAMOUT, 27 (YPA) – Rights groups circulated video footage on Sunday documenting members of the Saudi-backed Dera al-Watan forces assaulting the home of a citizen in central Al-Qatn city in Hadramout Valley, in an incident that sparked widespread condemnation among local residents.

The footage showed one Saudi-backed armed man issuing threats to drag a resident of Al-Qatn, identified as Saleh Mohammed, from inside his home without justification.

Another video showed what rights groups described as abusive practices and an intrusion into the sanctity of the home, including threats against women and children inside, while the armed man attempted to forcefully break down the main door.

The incident has highlighted what rights groups described as a state of security chaos, intimidation of civilians and violations of homes by Saudi-backed factions in Hadramout province, eastern Yemen.

Residents of Al-Qatn called on the authorities and leaders of the Saudi-backed factions to launch an urgent and public investigation into the incident, identify those involved in the raid and hold them accountable immediately, so as to deter anyone from endangering the security and safety of citizens.
