Malaysia: We will block military shipments bound for “Israel”
KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 16 (YPA) – Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced that his country would take decisive action against any shipments intended to assist the Israeli military that pass through Malaysian territory.
In a post on his X account on Tuesday, the prime minister shared a report stating that Malaysian authorities had intercepted shipments bound for Israel.
He emphasized that Malaysia’s stance on this matter is “clear and firm,” stating, “We will not allow our country to be used as a transit point for shipments that support or contribute to bolstering Israel’s military capabilities and the violations it commits against Palestinians and other innocent people.”
He noted that any suspicious shipment would be subject to inspection and investigation under Malaysian law, delivering the message: “Wherever there is a violation, decisive action will be taken.”
On July 15, the Malaysian prime minister had announced that individuals holding both Israeli citizenship and the citizenship of another country who are found to be residing or present in Malaysia would be deported.
