Sanaa FM warns Riyadh: 300 airstrikes will not guarantee security

SANAA, Sept. 14 (YPA) – Yemen’s Sanaa-based Foreign Ministry on Monday issued a strongly worded message to Riyadh, warning Saudi Arabia against assuming that it would remain safe and stable amid its continued airstrikes on Yemen.

“If the Saudi enemy believes that, after carrying out 300 airstrikes in five days using Saudi fighter jets taking off from Khamis Mushait and Taif air bases, its situation will remain safe and stable, then it is mistaken,” the ministry said in a statement.

The statement renewed its assertion that maritime navigation, which the Saudi regime has repeatedly cited in its efforts to rally the international community against Sanaa, is safe and has become even more secure following the end of clashes in the western coast districts and the expulsion of Saudi military buildups from the area.

It said normal maritime traffic through the Bab Al-Mandab Strait demonstrates the safety of navigation and refutes Saudi claims, noting that the Humanitarian Operations Coordination Center in Yemen had informed vessels and shipping companies accordingly.

The statement said the world clearly understands, even if some choose to ignore the facts under the influence of Saudi money, that Saudi Arabia was the party that launched the aggression against Yemen and continued its war and blockade of the country for 12 years.

It added that Saudi Arabia also began its aggression by carrying out airstrikes on Sanaa International Airport during the de-escalation period and failed to respond to calls to end its unjust blockade. Instead, it continued employing criminal methods to deepen the suffering of the Yemeni people, including during the Al-Aqsa Flood battle, when the Yemeni people were supporting the Palestinian people.

The statement also said Saudi Arabia had continued its military buildups with the aim of killing Yemeni civilians, adding that the militarization of Mocha civilian port was one example of such actions.
