SHABWA, Sept. 14 (YPA) – Unidentified gunmen targeted a military vehicle belonging to Saudi-backed factions on Monday on the road linking Ataq, the capital of Shabwa Governorate, and the Al-Abr road.

Local sources in the governorate confirmed that unidentified gunmen targeted a military vehicle belonging to the “Homeland Shield” factions (Dera’a al-Watan) with an improvised explosive device (IED) in the Na’dha area near the Al-Mizan checkpoint, east of Ataq.

The sources did not mention the extent of casualties or damage caused by the incident, nor the party responsible, amidst escalating security chaos in the districts of Shabwa.

This bombing is the third IED attack since the beginning of September in Ataq and on the road leading to the Al-Abr and Al-Khash’ah areas, amidst unprecedented security chaos.
