Amnesty International calls on Washington to impose an arms embargo and sanctions on Israeli occupation

LONDON, Sept. 10 (YPA) – Amnesty International USA has called on Washington and other countries to take stronger steps to halt the political, financial, and military support that contributes to grave violations of international law in Palestine.

The organization called for the suspension of cooperation that could contribute to the continuation of these violations and renewed its call for an arms embargo on the Israeli occupation, warning that its continuation could lead to serious violations against Palestinians.

It also called for economic measures and sanctions against officials involved in forced displacement, land annexation, expansion of control, and ensuring that companies do not participate in settlement projects or land seizures.

The calls come amid escalating pressure from the organization on the US administration and Congress regarding the war on Gaza and colonial policies in the occupied territories, demanding the suspension of military aid and a halt to the transfer of weapons that could be used in violations of Palestinian rights.
