Al-Quds Brigades announces fighter’s martyrdom after thwarted abduction attempt in Gaza Strip

GAZA, Sept. 04 (YPA) – The Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, said on Friday that its fighters confronted a force of Israeli-backed collaborators early Friday during an attempted abduction operation north of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip.

In a statement, the Brigades said the force advanced at approximately 3:30 AM toward Al-Jameza Street in the Al-Qarara area.

According to the statement, the force was composed of members of collaborating militias and operated with support from Israeli drones.

Al-Quds Brigades said the objective was to abduct one of its fighters, identified as Fadi Ali Saeed Abadleh, a member of the Al-Qarara Battalion of the Khan Yunis Brigade.

“Our fighters in the area detected the infiltrating force during the abduction attempt and engaged them with grenades and medium-caliber weapons from zero distance, inflicting casualties,” the statement said.

According to Al-Quds Brigades, Israeli drones subsequently intervened to provide cover for the collaborating force as it attempted to withdraw.

The Al-Quds Brigades said the force shot the abducted fighter, Fadi Ali Al-Abadla, killing him, and left his body at the scene before withdrawing with its wounded and dead personnel.
