GAZA, Aug. 29 (YPA) – A Palestinian was injured by Israeli occupation forces’ gunfire early Saturday amid renewed Israeli violations of the “ceasefire” in the Gaza Strip.
Palestinian sources reported that the injured man was taken to Al-Shifa Medical Complex after Israeli forces opened fire from military cranes east of Gaza City.
Meanwhile, Israeli artillery shelled eastern areas of Gaza City during the early morning hours. Israeli military vehicles also opened fire east of the city, while additional gunfire targeted the eastern outskirts of the Tuffah neighborhood, northeast of Gaza City.
Local residents reported intense Israeli tank fire targeting the Batn Al-Sameen area south of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. They also said Israeli tanks opened fire on eastern areas of Khan Younis later Saturday morning.
Israeli military helicopters subsequently opened fire toward Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, while Israeli drones flew at low altitude over the Al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis.
