Washington makes normalization with “Israel” condition for nuclear cooperation with Saudi Arabia

WASHINGTON, Aug. 26 (YPA) – The US administration has submitted a civil nuclear energy cooperation agreement with Saudi Arabia to Congress, conditioning its implementation on Riyadh joining the Abraham Accords to normalize ties with “Israel.”

According to the US Department of Energy, the signed agreement aims to support Saudi Arabia’s peaceful nuclear energy program. The multi-decade cooperation framework is expected to grant American companies substantial opportunities to participate in Saudi nuclear projects.

Observing officials in Washington and Riyadh characterized the development as an unexpected step for both US negotiators and the Saudi government.

The US administration further clarified that the bilateral civil nuclear agreement explicitly excludes uranium enrichment capabilities.
