HADRAMOUT, Aug. 25 (YPA) – A citizen was shot dead on Tuesday by gunmen from Saudi-backed extremist Emergency forces’ factions in Hadramout province, eastern Yemen.
A local source said that Emergency forces stationed along the Al-Abr road in Wadi Hadramout opened fire on Saber Basqala at one of their checkpoints, killing him instantly.
The source said Basqala had refused to hand over his personal pistol to the checkpoint personnel, who opened fire on him following a verbal altercation.
The oil-rich districts of Hadramout, which are controlled by Saudi-backed forces, have witnessed growing security chaos amid the absence of state authorities since the Saudi-led coalition launched its war on Yemen in March 2015.
