Millions gather in Yemen to commemorate Prophet Muhammad’s birthday

SANAA, Aug. 25 (YPA) – The largest mass rallies were held on Tuesday at Al-Sabeen Square in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, and other areas of several provinces, to commemorate the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday for 1448 AH, honoring the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad, peace be upon him.

Millions of people began arriving at the central celebration venue early in the morning, creating a vast gathering that reflected the Yemeni people’s religious identity and deep attachment to the Prophet.

By 2 p.m., the main celebration grounds were filled with crowds, while thousands more continued streaming through the surrounding streets toward Al-Sabeen Square. By 3 p.m., the square and adjoining streets were packed with participants marking the occasion, regarded as one of the most significant religious events for Yemenis and Muslims.

At the center of the gathering, crowds carrying green flags and banners and chanting religious slogans expressed their reverence for and attachment to the Prophet Muhammad.

The scale of the gathering extended across Al-Sabeen Square and surrounding areas, making it a notable scene in Yemen’s history.

Millions of Yemenis from different segments of society gathered under the banner of the Prophet, chanting in unison, “Here we are, O Messenger of Allah.”

Participants renewed their expressions of loyalty and love for the Prophet, pledging to follow his example and uphold his teachings.

They also reaffirmed Yemen’s positions on regional issues, particularly support for the Palestinian cause.

The celebration featured religious chants, devotional poetry and performances drawing on Yemen’s diverse cultural heritage, adding a distinctive spiritual and festive atmosphere to the event.

During the gathering, Ansarullah leader Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi addressed the millions of attendees and congratulated them on the large-scale commemoration of the Prophet’s birthday.
