Sanaa forces target Saudi oil tanker, military buildups

SANAA, Aug. 24 (YPA) – Sanaa forces announced on Monday that they carried out military operations targeting a Saudi oil tanker in the northern Red Sea off the coast of Yanbu, alongside strikes on Saudi military buildups in ‘al-Abr’, ‘al-Wadeah’, and ‘al-Kanayes’.

In a statement delivered by military spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Sarie, Sanaa forces said they targeted the oil tanker ‘Amzan’ with a ballistic missile, confirming a direct hit that sparked a fire onboard, while other vessels in the vicinity departed the area. The statement indicated the operation is part of an ongoing maritime blockade against Saudi Arabia to enforce a “siege-for-siege” equation.

The statement added that two separate operations utilizing ballistic missiles and drones targeted Saudi military concentrations in al-Abr, al-Wadeah, and al-Kanayes. The strikes destroyed over ten trucks carrying weapons arriving from Saudi territory, destroyed several weapons depots, and resulted in dozens of casualties, including military commanders and officers.

Sanaa forces reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining the declared maritime embargo on Saudi Arabia, reciprocating escalation with broader operations.
