Strait of Hormuz authority warns non-compliant vessels of penalties, urges shippers to verify blacklists
TEHRAN, Aug. 24 (YPA) – Iran’s Strait of Hormuz Management Authority warned on Sunday that it will enforce stringent restrictions and preventive measures against vessels violating authorized transit protocols.
The penalties range from financial fines and vessel detention to potential confiscation in certain cases to ensure strict compliance with maritime navigation regulations.
The authority called on cargo owners and commercial shipping firms operating in the Gulf region to review and verify the list of non-compliant vessels prior to concluding charter agreements, aiming to prevent maritime delays and logistical disruptions.
