Muslim World League condemns tender for settlement units under E1 plan in Quds (Jerusalem)

MECCA, Aug. 22 (YPA) –  The Muslim World League condemned the announcement by the Israeli occupation authorities of a tender for the construction of 1,234 new settlement units as part of the so-called E1 plan in occupied Jerusalem.

Secretary-General of the Muslim World League and Chairman of the Muslim World League’s Association of Muslim Scholars, Mohammed Al-Issa, denounced the plan, considering it a threat to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

He also condemned all illegal Israeli colonial policies in the occupied Palestinian territory, as well as Israel’s support for and protection of violations and acts of violence committed by settlers against the Palestinian people and their property, describing them as part of Israel’s continued approach of violating relevant international laws and United Nations resolutions and undermining all efforts to achieve peace.

Al-Issa stressed the urgent need for the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities by immediately halting all acts of violence, violations and colonial policies, as well as other measures aimed at changing the geographic and demographic character of the occupied Palestinian territory.
