Iranian Foreign Ministry: New US sanctions are “economic terrorism” and reflect Washington’s impotence

TEHRAN, Aug. 21 (YPA) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry asserted that the United States’ announcement of broad sanctions against Iran reveals its arrogant nature and its violation of international law.

The ministry deemed the sanctions a form of “economic terrorism,” emphasizing that they will not weaken Tehran’s resolve to defend its independence and sovereignty.

The Foreign Ministry explained that these sanctions reflect Washington’s failure to achieve its objectives in the two wars it waged against Iran, stressing that the sanctions policy has proven ineffective and that repeating it will only result in further failure, and the US government alone will bear the consequences.
