Iran warns Gulf states against supporting US military operations

TEHRAN, Aug. 19 (YPA) – Iran’s Armed Forces Chief of Staff Major General Ali Abdollahi warned Gulf states against providing any support to U.S. forces, saying that facilitating or assisting them would place those countries in the position of participating in military operations against Iran.

In a statement, Abdollahi noted that some southern Gulf states have declared their opposition to allowing their territories to be used for military operations against Iran, urging them to recognize that Tehran is closely monitoring military activities at bases across the region.

He said the presence of such a large number of military aircraft, particularly aerial refueling aircraft, at regional bases would be difficult to maintain without the knowledge of the host countries.

He stressed that Tehran would regard any form of support or facilitation provided to the U.S. military as participation in U.S. aggression against Iran.
