Russia warns Britain of heavy price for Ukraine’s use of British-made drones in attacks inside its territory

MOSCOW, Aug. 18 (YPA) – Russia has warned Britain that it will pay a heavy price following reports that Ukraine used British-made drones in attacks targeting military and industrial sites inside Russian territory.

The Russian Embassy in London said that British military support for Ukraine is increasing London’s involvement in the conflict, arguing that helping Kyiv carry out drone attacks inside Russia makes Britain a “party and partner” in the war.

It added that the “price” Britain will pay will increase the deeper its involvement and the more it supports what it called “Kyiv’s machine.”

The warning came after a report in the Sunday Times that Ukraine used drones produced by British companies to strike targets inside Russia.

The report indicated that one of the companies is affiliated with the British defense group BAE Systems, while the name of the second company was not disclosed for security reasons.

Reports stated that these drones have given Ukraine the ability to carry out long-range strikes inside Russia, which Moscow considered evidence of more direct British involvement.

Britain has been one of Ukraine’s main supporters since February 2022, with total support to Kyiv reaching approximately £25 billion, including £16 billion in military aid, in addition to supplying it with long-range weapons and various types of ammunition.

These reports have raised concerns about escalating tensions between Moscow and London, amid repeated Russian warnings that Western support for Ukraine could broaden the scope of the war and increase the involvement of countries supporting Kyiv.
