International Migration: Relief supplies ready in Aqaba awaiting arrival in Gaza

GAZA, Aug. 17 (YPA) – The International Organization for Migration (IOM) said on Monday that its warehouses in the Jordanian city of Aqaba still contain essential relief supplies ready for dispatch to the besieged Gaza Strip.

The organization explained in a post on the “X” platform, that delivering these supplies to those in need in Gaza depends on continued funding, the provision of supplies, and ensuring safe and continuous access, especially with the approach of winter.

This comes amidst a siege imposed by the Israeli occupation army on Gaza since October 2023. With American and European support, the occupation has committed crimes of genocide, siege, and starvation for more than two years, resulting in the martyrdom of 73,399 Palestinians, the majority of whom are children and women, and the injury of 174,310 others, according to a preliminary count, while thousands of victims remain under the rubble.

The ceasefire agreement in the Strip came into effect on October 10th of last year after a war that lasted more than two years, but the occupation army continues its daily violations of the agreement and prevents the entry of most humanitarian aid.
