Al-Fareh: Saudi rejection of Yemeni demands reflects persistence on blockade, compliance with US dictates
SANAA, Aug. 11 (YPA) – Mohammed Al-Fareh, a member of the Ansarallah political bureau, stated that Saudi Arabia’s rejection of legitimate Yemeni demands—despite its awareness of the high cost of this stance—reflects two main trajectories concerning its current policy orientation.
Al-Fareh explained that this rejection demonstrates, first, a clear insistence on continuing the occupation and control of Yemen, maintaining and intensifying the blockade, disregarding the demands and dignity of the Yemeni people, and worsening their economic hardship regardless of the sacrifices made.
He added that the second factor involves American, Israeli, and Western pressure on Saudi Arabia to return Yemen to what he termed the “American fold,” as part of an axis opposing regional causes—primarily the liberation of Palestine—and targeting anti-Israel movements in the region.
He noted that Riyadh appears unable to reject US dictates when faced with these pressures and choices, proceeding along this path despite the significant drain on its resources.
