Israeli occupation arrests Palestinians from Nablus and Jenin, carries out wide-scale raid campaign in the West Bank

WEST BANK, Aug. 09 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces arrested, on Sunday, two Palestinians from the Nablus and Jenin governorates in the northern West Bank, one of whom is a released prisoner, while dozens were subjected to field interrogations.

Palestinian sources reported that the occupation forces re-arrested released prisoner Abdul Jaber Yassin after raiding his home in the village of Asira al-Qibliya, south of Nablus, and also arrested Hamoudi al-Jawad from the town of Ya’bad, southwest of Jenin.

The forces raided the villages of Awarta, Beita, and Einabus, south of Nablus, and Beit Furik and Salem, east of the city.

They also stormed the village of al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah, searched homes, ransacked their contents, and carried out field interrogations without making any further arrests.

The Ma’ata Center documented 1,631 violations by the occupation and settlers in the West Bank during the period from July 31 to August 6, resulting in 79 injuries, 138 arrests, and 268 raids.

According to the Palestinian Prisoners Club, 630 arrests were recorded in the West Bank and Jerusalem during July, bringing the total number of arrests since October 7, 2023, to more than 25,000.
