IBB, Aug. 09 (YPA) – The Earthquake and Volcano Monitoring Center recorded a local earthquake measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale, 12 kilometers northwest of Al-Udayn in Ibb Governorate.
The head of the center, Engineer Mohammed Al-Houthi, said that the tremor occurred at 1:35 AM at a shallow depth of 6 kilometers, which made it felt more widely and included the areas of Wasab, Ottmah, Shamir, and several other areas.
Al-Houthi called on citizens to remain calm and not worry, stressing that no subsequent seismic activity has been recorded so far, and that the center’s teams are monitoring seismic activity around the clock.
