Iran’s IRGC vows retaliation for Haniyeh’s assassination

TEHRAN, Aug. 02 (YPA) – Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Sunday that efforts to disarm the Hamas movement had already failed before they began.

In a statement marking the second anniversary of Haniyeh’s assassination, the IRGC vowed that retaliation for the assassination of former Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh was inevitable and that the response would be harsh and devastating.

the IRGC described the killing in Tehran, where Haniyeh was attending the inauguration ceremony of Iran’s president as an official guest, as a major crime and a flagrant violation of international law and Iran’s sovereignty.

The statement said Haniyeh’s assassination did not weaken the resistance movement but instead strengthened its cohesion and reinforced its regional and international presence.

The IRGC accused the United States, Western countries, and complicit regional governments of providing political and military support to Israeli occupation, holding them responsible for crimes committed in Gaza.

The statement added that the ongoing war had exposed Israeli aggressive and criminal nature on an unprecedented scale.

It concluded with a warning that the resistance movement’s path would not be broken, reiterating that retaliation for Haniyeh’s killing was certain and asserting that attempts to weaken or disarm the resistance were destined to fail.

The statement added that final victory for Palestine was closer than adversaries believed.
