SANAA, July 26 (YPA) – The Sanaa authorities have intensified its warnings toward Saudi Arabia, cautioning that any move toward escalation would carry heavy economic repercussions for Riyadh.
Yemen’s Deputy Foreign Minister in Sanaa, Abdulwahid Abu Ras, said that the Saudi regime had failed in its previous reliance on U.S. support and was repeating the same mistake by relying on “mercenaries and local tools,” adding that such bets would only lead to greater losses.
In remarks, Abu Ras said: “Whoever lost their bet on their masters will find their bet on their servants even more disastrous.”
He stressed that the blockade-for-blockade equation has proven effective and that any new escalation would directly impact the Saudi economy.
Abu Ras added that America, despite all its power, failed in previous rounds to achieve its goals of forcing the Yemeni people into submission and was dragged into defeat, yet the Saudi regime has not learned the lesson.
The deputy foreign minister warned that Saudi Arabia’s continued blockade of Yemen, seizure of its resources, and attempts to undermine its social fabric would have negative repercussions on the Saudi economy.
He concluded by saying that the blockade-for-blockade equation remains in place and has proven effective, while escalation-for-escalation would amount to a final blow to the Saudi economy.
