Israeli occupation forces continue ceasefire violations in Gaza

GAZA, July 22 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces continued to violate the ceasefire agreement on Wednesday, carrying out airstrikes and ground incursions in eastern Gaza City and southern Khan Younis, while opening fire toward camps sheltering displaced Palestinians, injuring a number of people, Palestinian sources said.

According to the sources, Israeli tanks advanced into Al-Sikka Street southeast of the Al-Zeitoun neighborhood, while military vehicles, backed by air cover and heavy gunfire, pushed into the area east of Dawla Junction in eastern Gaza City.

The sources said the incursion was accompanied by intense tank fire, sustained artillery shelling and large-scale demolitions east of the city. A stun shell also exploded over southeastern Gaza City.

In southern Gaza, Israeli forces fired illumination flares southeast of Khan Younis as tanks opened heavy fire east of the town of Al-Qarara, north of the city.

The Israeli military also carried out demolition operations south of Khan Younis, with explosions heard across the area, the sources added.

According to Palestinian sources, more than 1,100 Palestinians have been killed and thousands injured in Israeli attacks since a ceasefire agreement took effect on Oct. 11, 2025. The attacks have also caused widespread destruction to buildings and infrastructure across much of the Gaza Strip.
