Senior Aden leader launches scathing attack on Saudi Arabia

ADEN, July (YPA) – A leader of the Southern Resistance launched on Monday a sharp attack on Saudi Arabia on Monday, asserting that Riyadh’s policies and failed governance in Aden and other areas under its control are responsible for Yemen’s current catastrophic situation.

Salem Abu Zaid Al-Khalifi, a Southern Resistance leader and tribal sheikh, stated that had the Saudi-led coalition and the hotel-based expatriate government presented an honorable model in Aden and the other Saudi-controlled areas over the past twelve years, Yemen would not have descended into its current state of killings, plunder of national wealth, widespread hunger, and the humiliation of the Yemeni people.

In a post on the social media platform X, Al-Khalifi argued that the Yemeni people—both in the north and the south—cannot be blamed for supporting “any free voice that fights for Yemen’s freedom, dignity, and independence, as well as for ending Saudi tutelage and the rule of the “hotel-based expatriate government and nightclubs.

He concluded his remarks with a strongly worded message directed at Saudi Arabia, warning that the situation had reached a dead end, stating: “The flood has reached the mountaintops,” an Arabic idiom meaning that matters have reached a critical breaking point.
