Two vessels targeted after attempting unsafe passage through Strait of Hormuz

TEHRAN, July 19 (YPA) – Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy declared on Sunday that two vessels attempting to leave the Strait of Hormuz via an unsafe route were involved in an incident, while two other vessels halted their transit.

In a statement, the IRGC Navy said: “A few hours ago, four vessels, with the support of American terrorists, disabled their navigation systems and ignored warnings issued by the Navy’s Strait of Hormuz Monitoring Base in an attempt to disrupt maritime traffic in the strait and exit through an unsafe route. Two of the vessels were involved in an incident and came to a stop, while the other two ceased their transit.”

“Control of the Strait of Hormuz is entirely under the authority of this force, and the only safe navigation route has been identified and officially announced,” the statement added. “As previously declared, not a single drop of oil, gas, or chemical fertilizers will pass through the Strait of Hormuz without prior coordination and authorization.”

It further warned: “Any vessels influenced by statements from the American enemy and attempting to use the unsafe route will inevitably be involved in an incident.”
