IRGC shoots down US MQ-9 drone over southwest Iran

TEHRAN, July 19 (YAP) – Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared on Sunday that it had intercepted and destroyed a U.S. MQ-9 drone over Ahvaz, the capital of Khuzestan Province in southwestern Iran.

According to a statement by the IRGC’s Public Relations Office, carried by Iran’s Fars News Agency, the MQ-9 drone was shot down over Ahvaz by an advanced air defense system operated by the IRGC Aerospace Force under the command of Iran’s integrated air defense network.
