Three killed, eight injured in US airstrikes on Iran’s Hormozgan province

TEHRAN, July 18 (YPA) – Local authorities in Iran’s southern Hormozgan province announced on Saturday that three people were killed and eight others injured as a result of US airstrikes that targeted three bridges and a tunnel early this morning.

In a statement carried by the official Iranian news agency (IRNA), provincial authorities warned citizens against unnecessary travel on main roads and highways in anticipation of potential subsequent attacks.

In a related statement, Hossein_Kermanpour, the head of public relations and media at the Iranian Ministry of Health, confirmed that US attacks throughout July have resulted in a total of 38 deaths and over 400 injuries, including women and children. He noted that 47 of the injured remain hospitalized.

Meanwhile, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) previously announced the commencement of a new round of strikes, following a series of heavy bombardments launched on the night of July 8. CENTCOM stated that these operations are executed in response to Iranian actions against commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
