BEIRUT, July 17 (YPA) – The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said on Friday that at least 400,000 Lebanese remain displaced, noting that many have nothing left to return to as a result of Israeli attacks on Lebanon.
The UNHCR explained in a post on the “X” platform, that “the homes of many families no longer exist, and large numbers of Lebanese remain homeless.”
“With entire neighborhoods razed to the ground and services disrupted, many have nothing left to return to, or nothing at all,” it added.
The UNHCR confirmed that its field work continues, but pointed out that needs still exceed available resources.
Since March 2nd, the Israeli occupation has escalated its aggression against Lebanon, targeting towns, villages, cities, and civilian infrastructure, resulting in thousands of martyrs and wounded, and the displacement of approximately 1.5 million Lebanese citizens.
