Sanaa forces shoot down Saudi reconnaissance drone in Bayda

SANAA, July 14 (YPA) – The Sanaa-based armed forces announced on Tuesday that air defense had shot down a Saudi reconnaissance drone over Bayda province in central Yemen.

Military spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Sarie said the armed forces downed a Wing Loong II reconnaissance drone in the early hours of Tuesday while it was carrying out hostile missions in the airspace over the province.

Sarie said the drone was brought down using what he described as an “appropriate weapon.”

He reiterated that the armed forces remain prepared to respond to any violation of Yemen’s airspace and sovereignty, stating that they would not remain idle in the face of any attack.
