SANAA, July 05 (YPA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Sanaa-based government affirmed, in an official statement on Sunday, that the Yemeni people have made their definitive decision to end the aggression, break the blockade, and restore their full sovereign rights.
The Ministry stressed that the full reopening of Sanaa International Airport is a non-negotiable sovereign right.
The Ministry categorically denied Riyadh’s claims regarding Sanaa’s alleged rejection of the “roadmap,” asserting that it has expressed its agreement on multiple occasions. The statement revealed that it is the Saudi side that is stalling the signing and actual implementation of the roadmap’s prerequisites—foremost among them being the lifting of the blockade and the payment of salaries using revenues from sovereign wealth.
The statement held the Saudi regime fully responsible for the continuation of the blockade and the worsening humanitarian crisis. It emphasized that Riyadh is the “head of the aggression and the decision-maker in the war,” rather than a mediator, noting that its agitation over the return of stranded citizens via Sanaa Airport exposes its reliance on the blockade option and its obstruction of peace efforts.
The Ministry concluded its statement with a strongly worded warning, asserting that any new escalatory steps would have catastrophic repercussions for regional security and the global economy. It pointed to the gravity of the Yemeni Armed Forces’ warnings regarding the “deterrence equation,” calling on the Saudi leadership to recognize the risks that would befall its economic facilities and strategic projects should it choose the path of escalation, and holding it fully accountable for the consequences.
