Violent tribal clashes rock “Khabar Laqmoush” area in Shabwa

SHABWA, July 05 (YPA) – Tribal clashes erupted again on Sunday in the Khabar Laqmoush area of Shabwa Governorate between members of the Al-Adiyo tribe, stemming from a blood feud that has persisted for several weeks.

Local sources reported that the fighting escalated significantly, with heavy weapons being used. The clashes resulted in deaths and injuries, as well as damage to civilian homes. Local efforts to contain the situation or reach a ceasefire agreement have stalled.

In light of this deteriorating security and humanitarian situation, the people of Shabwa have made urgent appeals to the relevant authorities to intervene quickly to end the conflict and protect civilians, warning of a worsening humanitarian situation if the violence continues.

Activists, dignitaries, and sheikhs in the province also called for reason to prevail and for dialogue and reconciliation to be pursued, stressing the need to spare women and children the horrors of these confrontations and to work to end the cycle of revenge through peaceful means.
