Yemen, Iran hold talks in Sanaa on efforts to break Saudi-led blockade

SANAA, July 05 (YPA) – Yemen’s Deputy Foreign Minister Abdul-Wahid Abu Ras met on Sunday with Iran’s Ambassador to Sanaa, Ali Mohammad Rezaei, to discuss areas of cooperation between Yemen and Iran, with particular focus on efforts to end the blockade imposed on Yemen.

During the meeting, Abu Ras expressed his condolences over the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, describing him as a great leader and a symbol of resistance and support for oppressed peoples.

He also congratulated the Islamic Republic of Iran on its historic victory, as well as the Axis of Resistance, saying the outcome demonstrated that the path of resistance is the most effective option.

Abu Ras praised Iran’s move to help break the blockade on Sanaa International Airport, saying it reflected the deep historical and fraternal ties between the two countries and their peoples.

He added that the Yemeni people had decided to end the aggression and blockade imposed on the country over the past 11 years and to reclaim their legitimate rights.

The Yemeni official also reaffirmed support for the principle of the unity of fronts, saying it would be translated into practical measures at various levels, including humanitarian and political efforts.

For his part, the Iranian ambassador expressed appreciation for Yemen’s support for Iran and the Axis of Resistance, reaffirming Tehran’s backing for Yemen’s efforts to end the conflict and blockade, achieve peace, and alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the Yemeni people.
