HADRAMOUT, July 02 (YPA) – The desert areas between Marib and Hadramout governorates are witnessing intense Saudi military movements, including the deployment of “Emergency” factions along the international highway linking Marib to the Al-Abar region.
According to informed sources, these field arrangements aim to redraw the map of influence and control over oil-rich areas in the Valley and Desert districts of Hadramout. The focus centers on the strategic areas of “Al-Khash’ah” and the vicinity of “Al-Abar” to administratively and militarily detach them from Hadramout and annex them to Marib.
Sources confirmed that these movements reflect the escalating Saudi-Emirati rivalry over economic resources, and an attempt to impose a new reality on the ground by force, which could fuel tribal and political tensions.
The coming days remain contingent upon what these developments unfold, amid expectations of a new round of conflict with tribes loyal to the Southern Transitional Council (STC), which is backed by the UAE.
