ADEN, June 30 (YPA) – Saudi-backed “Security Belt” factions abducted Raafat Ali Al-Saadi, a leader in the “Coordination of Civil and Human Rights Forces,” from Al-Qasr Street in the Al-Mansoura district of Aden and took him to an unknown location without explanation.
Human rights sources stated that armed elements carried out the arrest and assault on Al-Saadi arbitrarily and illegally.

In a statement, the Coordination condemned the incident, describing it as a “flagrant violation of public rights and freedoms and a serious breach of the law,” emphasizing that targeting civil society leaders “will not intimidate free people or stop the demand for rights and justice.”
In addition, the Coordination held the Saudi-backed authorities and factions in Aden fully responsible for Al-Saadi’s safety and demanded his immediate release and the prosecution of those involved in his arrest and assault.
It is worth noting that Raafat al-Saadi is the son of the late Southern Movement leader Ali al-Saadi, and the son-in-law of Lieutenant Colonel Ali Ashal al-Jaadani, who has been held captive in Aden prisons since June 2024.
